Notes: It is customary to eat dairy on Shavuot . Why ? Because this is the holiday the jews received the Torah at Mount Sinai . Well guess what, when they went home they realized that all their kitchens were not kosher ! They could not get any meat until the learned all the rules for "shechita" and salting meat etc... So they had to improvise meals -which meant dairy victuals for a few days ! That's why we now eat dairy on Shavuot to actively remember and feel the events of this all important day !
